Our Services

  • Frantic Frets Guitar and Bass Setup and Repars

Properly setup instruments make all the difference. Even a brand-new guitar will benefit from a good setup. Keep your guitar(s) in shape and as playable as can be. We recommend getting your guitar setup seasonally.

  • Frantic Frets Acoustic Guitar Setups

Acoustic guitars require a little more TLC than their electric counterparts. We recommend setups at least twice a year, especially on a new or new to you guitar. Be sure to keep your guitar(s) hydrated! Ask us how.

  • Guitar mod pickup install rewire

Rewiring, pickup installations, custom builds, and more – bring in your project, and let’s talk! Stringed instrument repair and restringing services are available. Tube amplifier repairs are limited, but we also “got a guy.”

Frantic Frets Music Store is an independently owned and operated “Mom and Pop” old-fashioned music shop. Our owner, musician, and luthier, Al Frantic, does the work himself – we do not “farm out” repairs. If we can’t do it here, we usually can put you in touch with someone who can. Al is an experienced musician that cares about your instrument as if it were his own, this makes a big difference in the care your instrument will receive. “Dr. Al” as we call him, has been servicing not only his own instruments but also those for friends since the 80s.

As a child, Al began his lifelong hobby of building models and developed his skills and attention to detail, which are evident in his workmanship today. Musicians near and far entrust their instruments with Al for all of their setups and repairs.

Turnaround time is typically a week or less, during peak periods, it may be 10-14 days. We can give you an estimated time when you drop it off. No appointment is necessary, but if you are traveling a distance, you may want to check in before the drive – we have been known to hang up our “Gone Fishing” sign on a nice day.
